Terri Neubert, wife of ISB past president David Neubert and “first fiddler” of the ISB, died April 8, 2016 from complications of spinal meningitis. She was 55 years old.
Terri was an accomplished professional violinist and educator and former president of the Texas Orchestra Directors Association. She was a joyous presence at our conventions, often gathering fellow folk musicians together for spontaneous performances in public spaces on our host campuses to entertain attendees. Terri always had a smile on her beautiful face for everyone and embodied the true spirit of music bringing people together. Our hearts are broken for her husband David and their two sons, Josh and B.J.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at First United Methodist Church in Beloit, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Other survivors include her parents Dick and Dora Lee Williams, sisters Kathy Thompson, Nancy Wilson and Ann Popp and brother Jim Wilson. The family suggests memorials to CASA or Beloit Community Orchestra.
