Eastman is our host school for the 2013 convention.  During the school year, over 800 music majors are studying and playing concerts all over this building.  For those of us who are new to the campus, certain elements may be a little confusing.  Jeff Campbell, co-host and Eastman Associate Professor of Jazz Studies & Contemporary Media, has assembled a great slide show to feature the spaces and layout of this great building.

During the convention, we will have lots of volunteers to help you find your way so you won’t miss a single event.

I am trying to figure out how to embed the show right here on the site so you don’t have to click on it.  Until that happens, click on the link.  It will open in a new window.

Here’s your quick guide to the slides:

  • The first 31 pictures are the rooms we’re using for our various events (performances, presentations, and exhibits). The floor plans start at slide 32.
  • Looking for practice rooms? See the Anex Building on floors 3, 4, and 5. (slide 39)
  • The vertical layout for the building starts at slide 44.

There is more to come on this.  We just thought this could be helpful to start giving you the lay of the land.

Have some thoughts or questions about the slides?  Feel free to comment below.
