The French luthier Christian Nogaro died Monday, July 7, 2014 after a long illness. He was 56 years old. Christian came from a large family of artists. His father and brother were painters and his sister worked in stained glass. Besides his distinguished work as a bass maker, Christian founded and ran an annual double bass festival in Saubrigues, France that attracted top musicians, classical and jazz, from around the world.
