ISB member wins the 2017 Stulberg Competition

ISB member William McGregor has won the gold medal against all string instruments in the annual Stulberg Competition held in Kalamazoo, Michigan. http://www.stulberg.org/ Hear him play Bach Cello Sonata no. 2, Double Bass, Prelude, Courante, Sarabande William McGregor, age 17, began double bass studies at age two, with Derek Weller in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was accepted into The Juilliard School Pre-College in 2009, where he began his studies with Albert Laszlo. In 2007-08, William received Honorable Mention in the Strings International Music Festival Concerto Competition in Philadelphia. Build-A-Bass Returns for 2017

The International Society of Bassists is proud to announce repeat sponsorship of its highly successful bass-building workshop for 2017 at the ISB Convention in Ithaca, New York this coming June. The ISB will host its fourth biennial College Fair Day, a networking event for college/university representatives and professors with students and their family members attending the 2017 ISB Convention at Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY, on Saturday, June 10th, from 8:30 to 10 AM.
